In this Brown Bag luncheon photographer Randy Bauman, organizer of the Mesquite Fine Arts Photographic Society, will share fascinating aspects on the history of photography and the historical and current controversies regarding its place in art world. Since its beginning, artists in other mediums have debated whether photography is a true art form. Its invention, evolution and (finally) acceptance, has dramatically impacted art history.
The emergence of digital photography and more recently “computational photography” coupled with the readily available ability to manipulate images using Photoshop or any of the hundreds of other smartphone and tablet applications has given rise to even more questions as to what is “real” and what isn’t. Attendees will find this presentation both interesting and thought provoking.
